Some good news.

As you may have noticed, my blog is kinda sparse at the moment.

There's a reason for that.

On April 11th, 2017 I was interviewed at the Vancouver Police Department by the CFNIS relating to my complaint against the commissionaire.

The CFNIS and the TPS shared the investigation as the abuse occurred both on a "defence establishment" and in a private residence not located on a defence establishment.

A "defence establishment" is basically any property that is owned, rented, or leased by the Department of National Defence on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces. Canadian Forces Bases and armouries are some of the more common examples.

On Friday August 8th, 2017 I received a phone call from the Toronto Police Service.

The Toronto Police Service laid charges relating to numerous sexual assaults on Friday.

The Canadian Force National Investigation Service assisted the Toronto Police Service with locating and arresting this individual.

This person is supposed to be appearing in court on September 19th, 2017 to enter their plea.

At this point in time I don't have to travel anywhere, unless he decides to plead "not guilty".

If he pleads "not guilty" then there will probably be some travel involved.

Either way, there will be a victim impact statement.

So, we'll see how this works out.

    1. Yeah, pretty fast turn around.
I only gave my statement back in April.
      So this is four months.
The CFNIS investigation into my complaint against the babysitter started back in March of 2011. That lasted initially until October of 2011. Then it started again in September of 2015 and has been going on since then.
That's just shy of 32 months total.

    1. Yeah, hopefully this momentum carries on.
I wonder if this fast turn around means that there was some "dirt" in the commissionaire's past.

  3. Do we have the name of the arrested person?

    1. Until there is a press release from either the Toronto Police Service or the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service I can't mention this person's name. For much the same reason I can't mention the babysitter's name.

The Ontario Courts do publish a daily list of court dates. I'm not sure how far into the future these lists of dates go. As I said, the date I was given was September 19th, 2017 and it's at the 1000 Finch Ave West courts.

  4. Thank you, that was exactly the reason I asked the name is because I wanted to see if DND or the Toronto Police had released his name.

I belong to our group on FB and am very happy for you. Keep us posted. xx

  5. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. In my case, since I was raped in Borden in 1982, nothing was done and nothing will ever be done except the class action suit.

    1. October 17th (tomorrow) will be his next court date.
His appearance is scheduled for 09:00 in court room #301 at 1000 Finch Ave. West.
From what I understand, this will be when he pleads either guilty or not guilty.
Victim services is supposed to keep me updated.
So hopefully I know by the end of tomorrow which way this will go.
